September 2008 - IndiviDUALity: A MATRIX GLOBAL TREND REINTERPRETED

WHAT:

Within each of you lives a counterpart with a different style, different attitude, an alter ego about to emerge. It’s the duality- a rich, full, fascinating dimension within you…that reflects your one of a kind individuality.

Your hair is the ultimate expression of your own uniqueness. These trend setting styles allow intriguing pieces of your personality to break through…in the most unexpected places.  Shaped with a strong profile. Disrupted by texture. Injected with color. Daring or demure. Silhouettes for day and night define the duality of you.

IndiviDUALity is a global trend created on the basis that everyone has an alter ego with a different style & expression. The looks created by the featured Global Artistic Designers express this idea- with one cut, one color styled differently to reflect the stylists one of a kind IndiviDUALity.

“This was a truly ‘global’ trend in every sense of the word. From the Global Artistic Design Team themselves, to the models, who collectively represent more than 4 continents, and even choosing to shoot in one of the most trendy and diverse sections of London, England, this project lived and breathed what it means to be living in a global society.

It is out of this continuing globalization that the individual feels that they need to find their own identity. In the past, each decade had a distinct trend, be it hair or fashion that they could identify with, so much that future generations can easily connect trends to their place in time. The 20’s, 30’s 40’s, all the way to even the 90’s, each claimed a certain style. With the turn of the century this distinction has become less identifiable.

The globalization of culture and business has begun to blend ideas that give new ideas to the world and allows them to be more individual, more creative in the choices they have. It is from this that we have identified a new trend, one that is collectively developed by stylists but interpreted individually all over the world.” – Cynthia Pitchford, AVP Matrix Global Education

WHO:

For the first time, the Matrix Global Artistic Design Team has partnered with the US Matrix Artistic Design Team to convey this unique trend to the U.S.  The goal is to inspire stylists to reinterpret these looks or create new ones based on their own alter ego and ultimately do the same for their client.

“What is most exciting to me is that Individuality is the first MATRIX ‘Global Trend’ where the Inspiration, and the execution of the concept, was individually created by some of the worlds most talented Hair Artists, as well as being Members of our own MATRIX Global Design Team. It defiantly gives the trend an international edge that will excite even the most creative U.S. Hair Artists.

Infused throughout with C.R.A.F.T. technique, MATRIX Education’s unique internationally recognized training Methodology. MATRIX is bringing this inspirational trend home to four cities across the U.S. A relaxed Cocktail evening will be the setting for a fantastic event, showcasing the Individuality looks.
The next day a Master Class will enable a hands on opportunity to work with the creators!  The MATRIX Global Design team members will share the skills & technique, guiding the participants in execution of the Individuality looks.

Truly an opportunity not to be missed!”  - Karrie Fonte, AVP Matrix U.S. Education
